All told there was over $7,000 worth of work done. Upon vehicle inspection, they also "discovered" that the AC condenser was leaking and needed to be replaced and that the rear brakes were "metal on metal" and needed to be replaced. After (no lie) 12 visits to dealerships (one of which I refused to deal with any further as they wanted me to drop the vehicle off for the entire day for an oil consumption test), to monitor the oil level, they finally agreed to rebuild the engine (45,000 miles) as well as fix a transmission leak. Shortly after I noticed that the vehicle was losing oil quite rapidly and seemed down on power. This was repaired by the dealership under warranty. Immediately we found rust on the … bottom of the rear doors (at 38,000 miles). When I bought the car off of them, it was as if a self-destruct button was pushed. In the first 3 years of them owning the vehicle, they had to have several things repairs: Driver's seat, fuel pump/timing chain and some other minor issues. It was purchased off of my parent who bought the vehicle new. I have owned this vehicle for about 18 months. I called again and left a voicemail on his direct line and did not receive a call back. I called the dealership and waited on hold to talk to the manager, Jaime, for about 5 minutes and then was disconnected. I’ve never had to work this hard to give someone $52,000. However, I really did prefer to test drive the car before I paid $52,000 for it. In the end, I even tried to make it work by getting estimates from 15 different car shipping companies. An entry-level sales person would’ve done a much better job. Wednesday morning I had to call the whole thing off because I did not have the flight scheduled as I did not have the credit application processed as Jake said I would Tuesday night. Why that took five days, I’ll never know. On Tuesday, the sales person walked into someone’s office (while I was on the phone) to ask the question about the warranty and they were able to answer it on the spot. These are not difficult things to produce. Jake told me he could process my credit application Tuesday night and knew I could not get it to him until the late afternoon. Ten, I moved three meetings and told him that I could come on Wednesday, if everything was ready by Tuesday. Keep in mind that I need it to fly out there immediately. of course, I never got a call back that day. When I tried to close the deal Sunday morning and get an answer on the offer as well as provide another request for the warranty information and the full video, Jake told me he’d “call me right back”. It was basically from just above the tire level down and then a quick picture of the front seats. When I finally got the video, it was only of the lower part of the car. They wanted the money but they did not want to do the BASIC things NEEDED for a person to feel comfortable making a purchase. That was his priority rather than just answering the question about the warranty and sending the video. Several times the sales person wanted me to give a deposit and fill out a credit application. There was no rush at all despite my request to “please just let me know if they could do the deal or not so that I could fly out there right away.” Most the time it would happen the next day. On several occasions the sales person said he’d “call me right back” then I would wait hours. I’m taking care of him and trying to run a business. I’m a single parent and my dad is in hospice. At the time they only had a “coming soon” picture on the site and no warranty information.įrom the start, I let them know that I only had the weekend to get this done. I said I was prepared to fly out as soon as they got me the basic info (the warranty information and either a full video or photos). I was extremely interested in the vehicle listed and made a reasonable offer (that was accepted after a couple days of waiting). Certain vehicles may have unrepaired safety recalls.
